Reward offer for stolen crocodile A Norwegian aquarium wants to quiz a thief - to find out why he or she stole a crocodile.
Taggen, or Spike, was taken from the Bergen aquarium over the weekend, with officials believing he was smuggled out during the busiest hours, reports Reuters.
The 70-centimetre smooth-fronted caiman can grow to around 2.5 metres long and lives on a diet of meat and fish, according to experts.
Kees Oscar Ekeli, the aquarium director, told the agency: "It has a solid bite. Considering it is not bigger than it is, you could lose a few fingers, but no vital organs."
Ekeli also fears that the four-year-old reptile has a poor chance of surviving, and believes it could die of stress if not returned to the aquarium.
In a fair deal, a reward of 25,000 kroner (£2,666) would be offered to anyone who provided information leading to the snappy recovery of the missing crocodile.
Last Chance for Animals, a US organisation that supports owners whose pets have been stolen, claims that almost two million pets are stolen each year and declared February 14th as Pet Theft Awareness Day.
